The Chinese brand, following its global success that has seen its sales grow exponentially in recent years, is working hard and delivering a meaningful message to the entire motorcycle manufacturing sector. It appears that some of the future productions of the Chinese brand may feature an automatic transmission that is apparently very similar to what Honda introduced with its E-Clutch, but actually operates on completely opposite premises.
If Honda planned to automate the clutch gesture thanks to an electric servomotor, CFMOTO aims to automate the work on the gear lever, or rather, on the gearbox shaft. In summary, the gearbox system would remain more or less traditional, with obvious advantages in terms of cost and simplicity, while the gear shifting action would be managed by an electronic actuator based on probable pre-set configurations stored in the engine maps and in the torque and power supply strategy, or through a button available for the driver to increase or decrease gear shifts.
It seems plausible to think that the system could rely on a Rekluse-type clutch system, but we do not have details about it yet.
