CFMOTO has always surpassed us over the years and, from time to time, has been improving its products, trying to raise the bar while keeping a low price. A formula that, like it or not, does not always give the expected result, but this cannot be said of the Chinese brand.
Attracting attention this time, after the debut of the new adventure 450, is the CFMOTO 500SR Voom, a sports bike that impresses with its design and the highly appreciated inline four-cylinder engine. A 500 with a four-cylinder engine? It’s true, you heard right, it seems that manufacturers are once again entering this market segment, now abandoned, but slowly flourishing again.
The focus immediately falls on the design and lines of this medium-sized sports bike, which are truly intriguing. The front with twin headlights, when the bike is turned on, gives a luminous signature that recalls the retro style of bikes from the 80s and 90s. The headlight is not the only reminder of motorcycling legends, the shapes of the fairing and windshield take us back to the trends of sports bikes from 30/40 years ago (Honda CBR400R, Suzuki GSX-R400, Kawasaki ZXR400…). Signature light aside, as soon as we saw it from the front, our eyes widened because the headlights are very reminiscent of those of the Maxi Enduro DesertX.
A little curiosity about the headlights: they are “perforated” in the middle and also function as air intakes for the inline four.
The high side exhausts combined with the rearview mirrors – fixed at the ends of the semi-handlebar – give the CFMOTO 500SR Voom a vintage and elegant look.

The CFMOTO 500SR Voom indicates in its name that it is a “half-liter” bike that, at first glance, wouldn’t be much different from the current CFMOTO 450SR and CFMOTO 450SR S. The secret ingredient that makes this model even more surprising is the four-cylinder engine (twin-cylinder in the case of the “450”).
Unfortunately, precise numbers and values were not provided, but given the displacement, the new mid-displacement sports model from CFMOTO could reach around 70/80 hp of maximum power.
It all looks very nice, perhaps too much…. The bad news was about to come: for now, this model will be dedicated exclusively to the domestic market, that is, to China. Currently, in Europe, the segment is represented by the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-4RR and we are waiting for the Kove 450RR.
