The Moto2 test that took place on Tuesday in Jerez ended in the worst way for Celestino Vietti. The Red Bull KTM Ajo rider crashed and fractured his left collarbone.
After being evaluated at the circuit’s medical center, the rider was taken to a hospital, where the fracture was confirmed. The injury required surgery, which took place at a hospital in Sassuolo (Italy) under the guidance of Giuseppe Porcellini.
According to a statement from Red Bull KTM Ajo, Vietti will now begin the recovery process. There is no confirmed return date, and it has not been announced whether the rider will be able to compete in the French GP in about a week.
After the first four rounds of the season, the Italian is in ninth place in the championship, always finishing the races in the top ten. His best result is seventh place achieved in Portugal.
