Always attentive to MotoGP, Casey Stoner lived in a different era of motorcycling from what exists today and considered that there is currently some ‘lack of professionalism’, mainly due to social media and the image they portray. Although this is not unique to everyone, the Australian sees that some are more concerned with projecting a certain image outward.
Stoner explained to Moto Journal what he considers to be a problem at the moment: ‘The problem is the image that MotoGP gives of the stars currently. There is a lack of professionalism. MotoGP and social media give the pilots the image of immature people. This is not necessarily good for younger pilots. They don’t see the sacrifices, they don’t see all the hard work’.
If some of the riders seem to work hard and try to be successful, others not so much, believes: ‘Honestly, I think many riders work hard, but others do not. They seem more concerned with their appearance, being muscular and tanned. For me, that’s not how it works. You can’t have everything in life’.
And concluded: ‘Among the young generation of riders, there will only be a few who know where to find their motivation, who understand what they can do to make a difference’.
