After saying that he believed he could have ‘achieved more’, and that there was a time when he felt he ‘could do what no one else could’, Casey Stoner also made a point of revealing that there was a time when he was so confident that he felt ‘invincible’.
Twice world champion in the premier class, with Ducati and Honda, the Australian spoke to Motociclismo.it, quoted in Motosan, about how he felt so good that he even felt unstoppable and that the biggest challenge was to maintain concentration:
‘I felt invincible and when everything was going well, the hardest part was to stay focused. I always worked better under pressure, while when everything is easier, it is easier to make a mistake because we are less focused,’ he said, recalling that he even had to slow down his pace: ‘In many races I was over a second per lap, but I had to slow down to ensure the victory. It was a great feeling’.
Stoner left MotoGP as a full-time rider at the end of 2012, becoming a test rider until 2016.
