MotoGP is heading towards significant changes in the near future and Dorna, through Carmelo Ezpeleta, admits to currently awaiting a response from the Association of Sports Motorcycle Manufacturers (MSMA) regarding the implementation and approval of new rules for the category.
The CEO of the organization addressed the controversial issue to Mundo Deportivo and explained that Dorna even went “beyond” what was proposed by the MSMA, as he began to explain: ‘The MSMA made some proposals, we responded and now we are waiting for them to tell us what they think of our proposal, which was ‘devices’ in front and behind, very restricted aerodynamics, even more restricted than what they asked for’.
The changes did not stop there, with the engine displacement, as previously confirmed, also being reduced: ‘And in terms of displacement, it is a little lower, 850cc’.
Remember that the changes are expected to come into effect in 2027.
