No one could stop Carlos Cano in the Estoril round of the European Talent Cup. The rider secured pole position and won both races in a dominant fashion.
The first race was held in the rain. The Spanish rider from Seventy Two Artbox Racing Team led from start to finish and pulled away at the front: he finished with a 5.914s lead over Marco Morelli (MLav Racing), who held second position from the first lap.
In third place was Fernando Bujosa (Team Estrella Galicia 0,0), who after some battling, secured third place definitively on the fourth of the ten laps. Alex Longarela (Liqui Moly Husqvarna Intact GP Junior Team) and Luca Agostinelli (Team Echovit Pasini Racing) completed the top five.
The second race was considerably more competitive. With dry track conditions, after the lead changed hands several times, Cano only sealed the victory on the final lap, beating Jesús Torres (Team Estrella Galicia 0,0) by 0.148s.
The final spot on the podium was even closer: Valentín Perrone (Frando Racing VHC Team) secured third place by just 13 thousandths ahead of Seiryu Ikegami (Gas Up Racing Team). Pau Alsina (Team Estrella Galicia 0,0) finished fifth.
After two rounds, Cano leads the championship with 70 points compared to Morelli’s 65. Perrone, in third, is already 24 points behind the leader.
