The MotoGP World Championship in 2024 promises to be super exciting and could once again mark the return of Marc Márquez to the biggest stages of the competition. One of those who believes so is Carlo Pernat, highlighting that for him, he is (still) the best rider, while also giving extra credit to the way Gigi Dall’Igna worked on this process.
The Italian started by praising the work that Dall’Igna did regarding the hiring of the former world champion, in words to Motosan.es: ‘What I find unbelievable is the operation that Gigi Dall’Igna did! It wasn’t Ducati who did it, Ducati was a bit against the operation. But Gigi is an engineer and when a rider who has already won World Championships in the past wants his bike, he is happy.’
For Pernat, there is no doubt that Márquez will be crucial and a rider who will compete for the championship, stating that when you combine the best rider with the best bike on the grid, that is a certainty:
– In my opinion, he himself made the operation, and I think it is certain that Márquez will compete in the World Championship next year, and that is for sure, right? When you put the best rider on the best bike, who is going to win (laughs). But we have to see if, from a physical and mental point of view, it is the same Márquez. But I know him, he will be tough and I am sure he will be “present” in the world championship.
