Aprilia is taking the first steps towards a carbon fiber frame for its MotoGP bike. Despite the track tests already carried out, including at the November test in Valencia, this is not a priority solution for the next year.
Test rider Lorenzo Savadori assured that, quoted by Crash.net, he explained that the component is still being tested in a data collection phase about its strengths and weaknesses:
– Carbon fiber is not our priority for 2024, we are only riding to analyze some information and receive new information. But we are focused in another direction. It is the beginning [of the project]. We started using it this summer and we need to test more. We need to better understand some things in the frame, it has some positive aspects and there are also negatives. But at this moment it is not a priority for Aprilia.
