Cal Crutchlow returns to competition this weekend, competing in the MotoGP Japanese Grand Prix as a wildcard. He will be integrated into the Yamalube RS4GP Racing Team, which is the usual test team he works with.
The experienced British rider stated in a press release: ‘I am looking forward to racing in the Japanese Grand Prix with the Yamalube RS4GP Racing Team. Essentially, they are my test team that I work with during the season. We have worked very hard this year to improve the bike for the factory riders for the current season and the next’.
Regarding the objectives of this participation, Crutchlow explained: ‘This wildcard will give us the opportunity to do something a little different throughout the weekend and find the best possible setup to help them for the competition weekend in Japan, for the rest of the season, and potentially for next year. I always enjoy going to Japan, to the country and the Motegi circuit. I had good times visiting the Yamaha headquarters and factory, and I am looking forward to having a fun weekend‘.
