Yamaha is not going through the best moment of its career in MotoGP and Cal Crutchlow has already said that he hopes the manufacturer will return to the top within five years. He also mentioned Honda, which is in a very similar situation to Yamaha and far from its peak, and believes that having an open mind and not being so conservative can lead both to the highest level.
In statements to Crash.net, the Yamaha test rider said what is essential to return to the highest level: ‘We need to have a more open mind, but Yamaha knows that and I’m sure Honda does too. I believe that when they do that, act faster and better, with a more open mind and maybe not be so ‘conservative’, then I think they will take a big step and I am confident they will do it’.
Next, he assured that the Japanese brand is open to making and adapting to this change so that everything improves: ‘Yamaha is motivated, listens, and is open to returning in a strong way and not just doing what it has always done [before] because that is not working now. They need to understand the [new] way of working’.
