The scrambler-style aesthetics of the Cromwell 1200 X make it clear that the bike remains essentially a road bike, but better equipped to handle light off-road, such as the occasional gravel road. It is by no means as capable as Triumph’s Scrambler 1200, so at least we can’t say it’s an imitation of that bike. Its scrambler look is further accentuated by a small windshield above the headlight, as well as fork protectors that add a bit of bulk to the front.
In terms of performance, the Cromwell 1200 has a liquid-cooled 1,222 cc twin-cylinder engine with fuel injection. It has a maximum power of 83 hp at 6,550 rpm and 108 Nm of torque at 3,100 rpm, meaning it has plenty of power at low revs. Power is also sent to the rear wheel through a six-speed manual chain-driven transmission. Suspension duties are handled by KYB equipment, consisting of a standard telescopic unit at the front and twin shocks at the back. To brake, the bike features dual 310mm brakes at the front and a single 260mm disc brake at the rear.
In terms of price and availability, Brixton is offering the new Cromwell 1200 X in the Italian market in only one cream color. Once available, it will have a suggested retail price of €11,749.
