The intensity of the MotoGP calendar is increasing. The number of rounds is growing and there will be a record of 22 Grand Prix races this year – which represents 44 races, due to the Sprint races introduced last year. Brad Binder, Red Bull KTM rider, spoke about the intense schedule of the premier class.
Asked by the Corse di Moto website if there should be fewer races, the South African agreed: ‘I think so. There are several weeks of travel one after the other, a lot of effort and risks that all riders take weekly to compete in two races and this has a price. But in the end, it’s what I like and I’m totally in favor of the races‘.
Still on the calendar, Binder commented: ‘There are many races. For me, the perspective is different from others because I can’t go home every weekend. I’m in Europe from January to December, I’m here to compete and do my job. I go home in December and hopefully a little in July, but this year will be shorter. I like to compete and that’s what I want to do‘.
