After several seasons with Ducati, Jack Miller moved to Red Bull KTM for the 2023 MotoGP season. The Austrian manufacturer gained valuable insights and feedback from someone who had recently ridden the benchmark bike – something that, according to his teammate Brad Binder, was a significant advantage.
The South African explained to Corse di Moto: ‘For me, one of the most important things is that when Jack arrived, he came from the benchmark bike that everyone was trying to beat. He was able to bring his knowledge and feel from the previous manufacturer, obviously giving us a good direction to follow, and at the same time, he was very quick to confirm what I had already said’.
While acknowledging Miller’s importance to the project, Binder emphasized that improvements were already noticeable even before #43 arrived: ‘Since we started the first test, we took a good step in the right direction. But I think even before Jack got on the bike, we were a bit faster than the previous year; everything was going very well. I think that gave us a clearer idea of where we needed to go’.
