Brad Binder was competitive in both races of the MotoGP Qatar GP, achieving two second places. However, he complained of some issues with acceleration coming out of the corners after the Sprint race.
Questioned about whether he managed to find any solution to improve, the South African from Red Bull KTM stated in a press conference: ‘Of course one thing we needed to improve from Saturday for me was that I had a lot of chatter and the grip was a bit inconsistent. When I started to slide a bit when accelerating, it never connected. It’s always very good for the first three laps of the race, then unfortunately there is some drop and then it becomes consistent again‘.
Regarding this aspect to improve, KTM made an effort and, according to Binder, the improvements in the main race were evident: ‘The staff worked hard on the electronics, changed the bike’s tuning a bit, and everything was much more under control. So we never had those big heartbeats. In the main race, I had some of those vibrations that other riders seem to have, especially when the tire started to wear out I started to have more and more – which I had never had all weekend, so it was a bit of a surprise. But for me it’s clear what we need to improve and hopefully my team will find something‘.
