Brad Binder is not in peak physical condition at the MotoGP Americas Grand Prix. During the past few weeks break, the Red Bull KTM rider injured himself while training in motocross, which is causing him some difficulties on the demanding Austin circuit.
The South African revealed at the end of Saturday that he fractured a bone in his foot – without specifying which one: ‘I crashed while riding motocross two weeks ago and fractured a bone in my foot, so it’s not the best feeling when I’m riding for sure‘.
Binder’s expectation was that the injury would not be as limiting as it is: ‘I expected it to be less problematic, that’s why I tried to continue. But especially here with all these bumps, it’s a bit painful‘.
In the Sprint race, the rider finished in 12th position, after starting from 17th – due to a compromised qualifying session caused by a crash on the first flying lap.
