Brad Binder had the pace for the podium in the MotoGP Spanish GP Sprint race, but a crash led to retirement. Meanwhile, two other KTM riders finished in the top three – rookie Dani Pedrosa (Red Bull GasGas Tech3/KTM) and wildcard Dani Pedrosa (Red Bull KTM).
The South African from Red Bull KTM was asked if this result puts pressure on him, to which he replied: ‘Pressure is not really the right word, I would say. I think I was doing a good job to be up there and unfortunately it didn’t work out for me in this race, but I was strong all weekend‘.
Binder is pleased with Pedrosa’s third place, as he commented: ‘I’m really happy to see Dani on the podium, it’s so good – especially considering where he started. And at least we had them carrying the flag for KTM‘.
As for his chances of finishing in the top three in Sunday’s race, #33 stated: ‘I think it was a fact in the Sprint, had I not crashed. But in the main race, we’ll see, you never know‘.
