The tests in Sepang were highly positive, believes Brad Binder, who admits that the team has grown with the rider considering that there are a number of small developments that will make a difference for him, not forgetting that the competition has also evolved.
‘December was very good, it was fantastic getting married. […] Overall everything has been good, I had a fantastic pre-season and it has been waiting to return to Europe, to action. For me, Sepang was a very positive test,’ said the KTM rider, who explained how the first days of testing went:
– On the first day we only tried to get back to speed, to pace, with my riding where it should be again and from the second day in the morning onwards I was able to have a very good lap time and I was able to be very fast right away and from there we started testing: different aerodynamics and all kinds of things.
Regarding the high level demonstrated in Sepang, with several riders managing to achieve times below the previous record, the South African commented: ‘It’s crazy because it’s clear that we ourselves have taken a big step forward but it seems that the other guys have too. It’s always good to see how MotoGP is stepping up, the level keeps rising and I felt that our bike is working much better and we found small things that make a big difference for me and so now it’s a matter of putting all the little details together and I don’t think we’re far off, at all’.
