The BMW R 1300 GS was launched last November, but it will soon receive updates for the 2025 version, continuing to use the current engine and frame. By the end of the year, the new R 1300 GS Adventure will also hit the market, with all its details already revealed.

According to Motorrad Online, the Bavarian manufacturer has announced that the Automated Shift Assistant (ASA) will be available as an optional feature on the R 1300 GS in 2025. This feature provides automated clutch and gearbox operation. Additionally, the Rear-End Collision Warning (RECW) system, which alerts the rider of an imminent collision from behind, will also be available as an optional feature. Prices for these updates will be announced later.

At the heart of the motorcycle is the new 1,300 cc twin cylinder boxer engine, capable of delivering 145.5 hp at 7,750 rpm and 149 Nm of torque at 6,500 rpm. Featuring Shift Cam technology, the engine is paired with a six-speed Musashi gearbox located below the engine.

The main frame is made of steel while the rear frame is made of die-cast aluminum, and the suspension features the revised Evo Telelever system from BMW. At the rear, the Evo Paralever system with a continuous swingarm axle integrated into the frame is used. The brakes are Brembo with two semi-floating discs and radial four-piston calipers on the front wheel and a single disc and two-piston floating caliper at the rear.
