With the motorcycling season in full force and only better weather forecast, now is the best time to hit the road (and the trails). It’s also the best time to get your children on two wheels, as motorcycling can be a family activity.
Fortunately, today’s manufacturers have made it easier for children to access the two-wheeled motorized lifestyle. We’ve already talked about various e-bikes for children from big names such as KTM, Husqvarna and GasGas, but this time another staple of the enduro world has presented yet another e-bike for children.
Italian off-road specialist Beta has some of the most performance-focused, not to mention expensive, enduro bikes on the market. It has established itself as a benchmark brand in the industry and now youngsters can make their first bike a Beta, thanks to the E-Kinder Race electric off-road bike. Beta says this is the “perfect choice for adventurous kids who love the outdoors”.
From a design point of view, the E-Kinder Race is more like a bicycle than a motorcycle, as it uses a diamond-shaped frame. However, it takes its off-road capability to the next level with a full suspension system that mimics that of a motorcycle. The frame itself is made of aluminum alloy and the bike has wheels of various sizes, depending on the age of your child.
Overall, Beta offers the E-Kinder Race in three variants. The E-Kinder Race 16, as the name suggests, has 16-inch wheels and is suitable for children aged six to nine. It is equipped with a 36-volt, 500-watt motor, which gives it a top speed of 28.9 km/h. At the age of six, I would have lost my mind if I had such a bike.
Next, the Beta E-Kinder 18 has slightly larger wheels, which makes it suitable for taller children aged between eight and 11, and is equipped with the same motor, also featuring the same performance indicators.
Last but not least, older children aged 10 to 16 can opt for the E-Kinder Race 20. With its 20-inch wheels, it prepares youngsters for both endurance motorcycling and mountain biking, as if eliminating the boundaries between the two disciplines. The Beta E-Kinder Race 20 further distinguishes itself with a more powerful 750-watt motor and a higher top speed of 33.7 km/h.
