Jett Lawrence achieved his third podium of the year in the AMA Supercross 450 this weekend, now at State Farm Stadium, and thus rose to the top of the championship, with 117 points, six more than the current champion Chase Sexton. He believes that the way he approached the weekend was crucial.
The rider spoke about his Saturday night in Glendale: ‘We had some moments where my brain shut off, but I focused on hitting my marks and keeping my lap times consistent throughout the final stretch. I know I’m not the fastest in these conditions, so I just take things as they come.’
His approach to the race and the calmness with which he approached the main event was crucial, he considered: ‘I think entering the race with the attitude of being patient and understanding where my limits were helped me have a calm mindset for the night.’
So far, Lawrence has two wins in the championship, and a third-place finish as his best results.
