Maverick Viñales secured a place on the front row of the starting grid for the French MotoGP Grand Prix on Saturday. The Aprilia rider finished third in qualifying at Le Mans.
Despite only having one timed lap in Q2, the Spaniard managed to achieve his goal of being in the top three, only losing out to Jorge Martín (Prima Pramac/Ducati) and Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati).
A result that left him pleased, as he stated to the official broadcast: ‘It’s very good, I’m very happy with the result. Obviously, the front row was the goal, and being able to be on the front row with just one lap is fantastic, so I’m very happy and very satisfied with the feeling of the bike‘.
Now, the races are coming up, for which Viñales believes he is prepared: ‘I feel ready for the race, so we will obviously try to be at our best, fighting, and we will try to be there from the first lap. So, I’m very happy, it’s fantastic, the French crowd, and we will try to have another fantastic race‘.
