Fabio Quartararo is not having an easy year and the “solution” may be… a return to the past. Let’s explain: in yesterday’s race, the Frenchman from Yamaha finished seventh and had good sensations on a day when he returned to the fairing and configuration of 2022.
After Sunday’s race, the Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP rider said: ‘During the morning [yesterday], we returned to last year’s configuration and fairing. It helped a lot. I think the race was fantastic. I had a good start and good first laps, and seventh place was the best we could achieve’.
Then the former world champion spoke about his work and the approach he took: ‘This weekend we stayed calm and worked hard. That’s good, but there is still a lot to understand. I hope we can also get more information in Misano, so we can be 100% sure of what we are going to do. I think it was a quite difficult weekend overall, but if we take a step forward gradually, that is very important’.
