Pedro Acosta and Augusto Fernández have had different results so far this MotoGP season, both being somewhat on opposite sides in the race standings. Now in Austin, this will be a ‘test’ for the rookie, as Nicolas Goyon believes, while for Fernández, this round can serve as a confidence boost.
The Red Bull GASGAS Tech3 Team Manager is looking forward to racing in the United States of America, as stated in a team statement: ‘It’s that time of year when we have to visit Uncle Sam’s country for the Americas GP. It will be a very important round for Red Bull GASGAS Tech3, as we share the same sponsor of the event. Additionally, the United States of America is a big market for GASGAS, represented by local superstar Justin Barcia in Supercross, so we know we will have eyes on us’.
This track will be a big challenge, he assures: ‘Austin is an atypical circuit, it is the first left-handed track of the season and its 20 corners make it the circuit with the most corners. Besides everything else, it is one of the most physical races on the calendar, because the riders have to deal with bumps and numerous changes of direction’.
Next, Goyon spoke about the two team riders, starting with Acosta: ‘Austin will be a real test for our rookie Pedro Acosta. Our young star had a dream start to his MotoGP career, after stepping on the podium in just two races. This round is not easy, but he won last year in Moto2 and comes with a lot of confidence, so we are looking forward to observing his progress this weekend’.
And after putting your attention on #37: ‘Augusto Fernández is regaining confidence, which is what he did in Portimão. Last year, the weekend in Austin was very complicated for him, but after a chaotic race, he finished in the points and was the first among the Pierer Mobility bikes, so I am sure that will give him confidence. Ladies and gentlemen, let the show begin!’
