Augusto Fernández will fulfill his second season in MotoGP this year and has ambitions. In 2023, in a season of adaptation, he had a fourth place as his best result – and now he would like to go further.
Questioned by SPEEDWEEK.com about what he could consider a successful 2024 within a year, the GasGas Tech3 Spanish rider replied: ‘Being the best Pierer Mobility rider [GasGas Tech3 and KTM] in the overall standings and, of course, achieving podiums and my first victory. It is always difficult to predict the standings, in MotoGP you never know, but let’s say: being the best Pierer Mobility bike with victories and podiums would be perfect’.
Regarding specific goals, Fernández said: ‘I don’t want to chase a result because in MotoGP you never know and everything has to come together, but I want to fight to be the first KTM in the pack, higher up in the pack with Brad [Binder], or Jack [Miller] or Pedro [Acosta] if they are there. Performing as the best KTM bike is the main objective for all races in the upcoming season’.
