One of the great attractions of the upcoming MotoGP season will be how Marc Márquez adapts to the Gresini Racing project, where he will lead the Ducati Desmosedici GP23.
Multi-winner Giacomo Agostini is one of the most respected voices and commented on the Spanish rider’s entry into the Italian brand.
‘Although Marc has faced many physical problems, I am deeply convinced that nothing has affected him as a rider. When he was 100% physically, he never held back and continued to take risks to achieve a good result. We saw this last season at Honda, where the other riders belonging to the brand were fighting for the last places and he always made a difference,’ highlighted the 15-time world champion, in statements to Gazettta dello Sport.
‘In Valencia, he immediately showed that he can ride very fast with the Ducati. He did it without getting too close to a limit he doesn’t know yet, avoiding unnecessary risks at this moment that could have caused him to fall. It will take him time to fully adapt to the Desmosedici. But once he masters the bike, he will be ready to win. But considering the level of the opponents, it won’t be easy for him to impose himself. But I’m cautious when predicting if he can win the World Championship,’ he concluded.
Marc’s last victory was on October 24, 2021, at the Misano circuit, and the last World Championship he won dates back to the 2019 season. The last winners in the premier category were Joan Mir (2020), Fabio Quartararo (2021), and Francesco Bagnaia (2022 and 2023).
