Fabio Quartararo’s renewal was anything but predictable. After several criticisms from the French rider about the lack of performance of his Yamaha YZR-M1, against all expectations and rumors, he renewed with the Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP Team.
Quartararo continues to justify his decision to renew with the Japanese manufacturer after learning about some measures that he cannot communicate to the press.
In statements to Canal+, the French rider understood all the doubts that the MotoGP community has about his renewal with the Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP Team, but adds that the Japanese manufacturer is determined to invest to return to the top.
After admitting that the economic factor was decisive in his decision, Quartararo replied: ‘Let’s not fool ourselves, I think so, as a rider I have a value, and Yamaha knows that very well. For me, it is an honor that a brand like Yamaha invests in me. Honestly, I also have an ego, I am proud. We won the title with Yamaha. We hit rock bottom in the last two years. I’m also counting on this. I want to return to the top with the brand that gave me the opportunity to change my career, with the brand that changed my life.’
