This week the cancellation of the Argentine MotoGP Grand Prix was announced, which would have been the third round of the season and was scheduled for early April. Now, there are two more rounds that may be in danger of not taking place: Kazakhstan and India.
The Kazakh race, scheduled for June, should have debuted last year, but was postponed to 2024 as the Sokol circuit was not yet finished. According to the website GPOne.com, there is no news about the progress of the works, and there are doubts about the ability to complete them on time. As for India, which hosted the MotoGP for the first time last year, there are rumors of difficulties that may jeopardize its planned return in September.
In the event that the Kazakhstan and India GPs cannot take place, there would be two possibilities: either the calendar would be reduced to 19 Grand Prix races, or the Hungarian GP, which is on standby, would be added. However, the Balaton Park Circuit still needs to be homologated – which should not be very problematic, since the World Superbike Championship has a round scheduled there at the end of August.
