Let’s talk again about the project called “Back to Africa” aimed at bringing the Aprilia brand back to the great African raids, as it is coming to life.
The two Tuaregs developed by the competition department of the Noale company in collaboration with GCorse of the Guareschi brothers and entrusted to Jacopo Cerrutti and Francesco Montanari, will face the demanding Transanatolia Rally in September. This is an important commitment for the development of the bike, which, it should be remembered, is based on the Tuareg that, strictly derived from the series, is a major player in the Italian Motorcycle Championship, in which Jacopo Cerutti has already achieved four wins in the category in six races held so far, also coming close to victory in the overall standings in the first two rounds. A surprising debut for the Tuareg in the tricolor series, which currently sees Cerutti leading the classification in the G-1000 class, reserved for multi-cylinder motorcycles with over 600 cc.

After the first positive tests carried out in Sardinia and Friuli, the Turkish meeting, a rally as fascinating as it is demanding, which will cross Anatolia from the Black Sea to the Aegean Sea, totaling 2500 km, represents a true test bench for the Tuareg, with a view to future commitments in the African desert. In the first phase, the work focused on the performance of the frame, with removable structures and geometries designed to ensure stability at high speeds and a greater suspension travel.

The collaboration with Metzeler, which is looking with increasing interest at the world of two-cylinder adventure motorcycles and chose Aprilia to develop products for future use in rallies.
