Aprilia has no riders under contract in MotoGP for 2025, with Aleix Espargaró and Maverick Viñales nearing the end of their contracts, as well as Miguel Oliveira and Raúl Fernández in the satellite team Trackhouse Racing. Massimo Rivola, executive director of Aprilia Racing, is not in a hurry to decide, knowing that the bike is already attractive.
Asked about the possibility of Enea Bastianini joining the team in 2025, the manager explained to GPOne.com: ‘Enea is a fantastic guy and a super talented rider, I personally like him. […]. Having an Italian rider is definitely a mutually beneficial situation, but our priority is to make the best bike possible to be strong in the market. We also want to respect our four riders as first choices and give them time‘.
For now, this time will be given to the current riders, and Rivola admitted that Aprilia will still take time to choose its riders for the next season:
– We will be among the last to choose because they are in a privileged position, we have a good bike, although it is not yet the best, and the riders that I personally wanted. We will also see what Davide Brivio’s choices will be for Trackhouse, we are already comparing, but without pressure.
