Maverick Viñales dominated the MotoGP Grand Prix of the Americas, and not even falling from pole position to 11th on the first lap prevented him from being the winner. A performance by the rider and Aprilia that deserved praise from Carlo Pernat.
In his usual analysis for the website GPOne.com, the riders’ manager highlighted the performance of Aprilia and the Spanish rider, considering that the Noale manufacturer is now able to compete with Ducati on equal terms:
– An entire weekend that Aprilia dominated, both from a technical point of view and from the rider’s perspective. Viñales seems like a completely different rider now, he is consistent and regrets the failed result in Portimão, where he lost points. I think that Aprilia at this moment has a bike that can compete with Ducati, partially because of such a dominant Viñales.
Regarding the winner’s performance, Pernat believes that if it weren’t for the poor start, he could have finished alone at the front: ‘He dominated the entire weekend and had a fantastic race, with an incredible pace. He recovered from a bad start in 11th place and climbed to the top of the standings. With a better start, he could have won by a margin of four seconds. This was the best moment of this GP‘.
