The growth of Aprilia in the last two MotoGP seasons has been evident, becoming a constructor to be reckoned with in the fight for podiums. The Catalunya GP was marked by the first double, with Aleix Espargaró and Maverick Viñales, but the titles may still be far away.
The CEO of Aprilia Racing, Massimo Rivola, reiterated to the newspaper Marca that being a champion is the goal, but the team will still take time to get there: ‘I came to Aprilia because I wanted to win the World Championship with Aprilia. When will we win? For me, we need two years to grow properly’.
The Italian spoke after the pilots, praising the qualities of both: ‘It will be interesting to see what will happen by 2025, with the pilot market, because I believe a lot in stability. That’s why I like to see the growth that Maverick is having, which in each race is always stronger, his results are becoming more and more consistent. Aleix is in a spectacular moment of form. Naturally, he knows the bike like no one else, because he has been with us for many years’.
Rivola also spoke about the CryptoDATA RNF MotoGP men, Miguel Oliveira and Raúl Fernández: ‘It is also good to see a satellite team that, with Miguel, particularly, but I am sure also with Raúl, will arrive, grow and grow well’.
