The RS 660 quickly became the best-selling sports bike in Europe and Aprilia decided to capitalize on this success by expanding the RS family with a new range, the 400. Specifically, the novelty is the RS 457, already announced and presented, but making its official appearance at EICMA as the highlight of the Aprilia area of the Piaggio Group stand.
This is a bike that aims to expand Aprilia’s customer base, either by attracting new generations of motorcyclists interested in the sporty side, or new markets where there seems to be a growing demand for simple and fun, yet technologically advanced bikes. Among the strengths of the RS 457 are its lightness, with the best weight/power ratio possible for a bike that can be ridden with an A2 license, its ease of handling, and its technological equipment. The RS 457 was designed to accompany the rider’s growth, both on the road and on the track.

The power value is matched by the weight of the bike: 159 kg dry (175 kg with a full tank), for a record weight/power ratio. The aluminum frame and adjustable suspension are top-notch, following Aprilia’s tradition, as well as the complete standard electronic equipment: Ride by Wire throttle, three riding modes, ABS, and adjustable/removable traction control. Among the accessories is the gearbox with QuickShift system.
At the EICMA stand, Aprilia could not fail to bring the rest of its range and in particular the Tuareg, a true demonstration of the great versatility of the 660 twin-cylinder engine that this model shares with the RS. Just a few days before EICMA, the Tuareg, with Jacopo Cerutti, climbed to the top step of the Italian MotoRally Championship, while the RS 660 proved to be a major player in the Twins Cup category of the prestigious American MotoAmerica championship, placing two riders on the overall podium.
