Andrea Iannone is still not a completely consensual person in the paddock and a lot is due to his ‘bad boy’ image and strong personality but this seems to be something that has changed over the years, believes Neil Hodgson.

On TNT Sports, the Brit began talking precisely about the Italian’s broken style, who is currently racing in the Superbike World Championship: ‘With Iannone, there are mixed feelings in the paddock. Not about him being banned, but about his personality in general. He is marmite in this paddock. Some people really like him, and some are not sure’.

Hodgson recalled his own experience with the rider: ‘I’ve worked with him and he was a challenging individual to interview, he was moody and not the person you thought he’d be. I also saw him be quite rude with fans, which I couldn’t cope with’.

However it seems that the years have made #29 a little calmer: ‘I’ve spent time with him over the years. But I have been told that, second time around in World Superbikes, he seems like a different character. Less arrogant, and enjoying his second time around’.

Iannone recently raced in the Malaysian GP in the colors of the VR46 Racing Team at the invitation of Valentino Rossi.
