Álvaro Bautista has been shining in the World Superbike Championship but remains very attentive to MotoGP and admits that this year there is a ‘total anarchy’ and a ‘blessed confusion’, something that… he likes to see.
The two-time world champion in WSBK who bid farewell to the premier class of motorcycling in 2018 as a full-time rider, was asked by Motosan about his thoughts on MotoGP this year, and there is some talk in his box about what is happening at Ducati currently, with him being very clear and direct: ‘Total anarchy. It is different from previous years, now it is more open, there is more spectacle. A blessed confusion’.
From his side as a rider in another category, everything that has been happening has served as a tonic to… enjoy, and with Pedro Acosta in mind as well: ‘From the SBK side, we just enjoy, it’s not our problem. But one thing I like, and that I saw from the first race in Qatar, is that you can see that Pedro is the only one coming from Moto2, because he rides differently from everyone else. And that is appreciated, with all this aerodynamics, it looks like they are all on rails. It’s cool, I think it will be fun this year’.
It should be noted that there has indeed been some chaos in the Ducati universe, with the clash in Portugal between Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati Lenovo Team, factory team) and Marc Márquez (Gresini Racing, satellite), as well as other topics on the table such as the renewal of Pramac Racing, the possibility of Jorge Martín leaving the manufacturer, or even Enea Bastianini, the entry of Fermín Aldeguer for 2025, etc.
