Attentive spectator of the premier speed category, Álvaro Bautista spoke about Marc Márquez’s entry into Gresini Racing, Pedro Acosta’s rise in Red Bull GasGas Tech3, and David Alonso (Red Bull GasGas Tech3).
‘Well, Marc has great talent. When you combine the best bike and the best rider, the result will be good. I saw him very well in Qatar, with a lot of head. He didn’t try to show off or try to win from the beginning. He knows clearly what he has to do, little by little, gain confidence with the bike to reach his maximum level. I think he will fight to win races, but the championship, as of today, will be difficult because the Ducati of 2024 seems to be slightly better than the 2023 version. For Marc, adding that extra as a rider between the two versions will be very difficult because of the dynamics and all the technology. He has to be calm. The important thing for him is to smile again as we have seen him lately,’ emphasized the experienced rider to Sport newspaper.
‘On one hand, Pedro Acosta was a surprise and on the other hand not because he had a very good preseason. He rode the bike in a very different way from the others in the category. Undoubtedly, he has a great future, without rushing because he doesn’t have to prove anything to anyone. In the first year, he has to build a good foundation and I’m sure he will be able to achieve good results’, Bautista said referring to Pedro Acosta.
Also in the spotlight is David Alonso, the current leader of the Moto3 world championship.
‘Last year when he debuted in the World Championship, he had great races and won four victories. He is an incredible boy and, above all, he is very intelligent, he manages the races very well, which is very difficult in his category. In Qatar, he did an impressive last lap. He is very young, but I see him as very mature and he has a very promising future’, he concluded.
