Álvaro Bautista is just two points away from securing the 2023 Superbike World Championship title. The Aruba.it Ducati rider arrives at the final round of the year in Jerez with the possibility of wrapping up the championship in the first of three races, but he doesn’t have a different mindset than usual.
The current champion didn’t hide the fact that this round is particularly special: ‘I am very happy to compete in Spain again, especially at the Jerez de la Frontera circuit, which I really like. It is a very pleasant track, a “classic” in motorsport. There will be several friends, my family, and it is always very exciting to be able to share these moments‘.
Bautista hopes to have the same sensations he had in the January test on this track and assured that, despite the title being close, he will not change his approach: ‘I have good memories of the tests we did in January and I hope the feeling can be the same. For me it will be a weekend like any other, with the same approach, trying to work in the best way since the free practices. Everything else will be a consequence of the quality of the work we do with the team’.
