Álvaro Bautista defends the World Superbike title this year, after being champion in the last two seasons. He remains at Aruba.it Ducati, now with Nicolò Bulega as his teammate – a promising young rider who started the year by winning the first race in Phillip Island.
Quoted by the website Motosan.es, the champion of the last two seasons made a prediction about who could win the title this year: ‘I don’t like to make bets. But if I had to bet my money, excluding myself from the equation, of course I would bet on Nicolò to be the champion, because he is a very fast rider and is at a very high level,’ the Spaniard began.
In Bautista’s understanding, there is even a comparison with his own case: ‘He found the feeling with the bike like I did in 2019. And I think he is the rider, I think at the moment he is the strongest in the category. It’s the first round, you always have to analyze with caution, but I think Bulega will be there all year.’
