Honda and Yamaha had two days of private testing this week, benefiting from the concessions granted in MotoGP, where their riders were on track at Mugello. The fastest was Álex Rins.
At the circuit that will host the next Italian GP from May 31 to June 2 (before that there is still the Catalunya GP), Yamaha was on track with Rins, Fabio Quartararo, and Cal Crutchlow, with the British rider only riding on one of the days, as reported by Motosan. Honda, on the other hand, tested with Joan Mir, Luca Marini, Taakaki Nakagami, Johann Zarco, and only tested for one day, yesterday.
The fastest on track was Rins with a time of 1:45:931s, with the Spanish rider being the only one to ride within the 1:45 mark, while Quartararo was second with his best lap recorded in 1:46:280s. Crutchlow was eighth, and last on the timesheets.
Although it was a test, the differences in times compared to the M1 were significant, with Nakagami being the fastest. Mir clocked a time of 1:47:041s, with Zarco just behind and Marini in second to last with a lap in 1:47:330s.
In addition to the two manufacturers, Aprilia, with Lorenzo Savadori, was also on track, with the #32 riding in 1:48:121s.
It is known that Yamaha, among other things, tested a new aerodynamic package, while there is not much information available about Honda.
