Over many years and working with Honda, Marc Márquez will leave the Japanese manufacturer that has accompanied him throughout his rise to MotoGP and with which he already has six titles in the category. Álex Rins believes that his compatriot will play an important role for the team that follows in his career, and admitted that ‘the Italians’ will be paying close attention to the pilot’s feedback.
However, despite there being no official confirmation, rumored as the most likely possibility for his future, Rins – who will also leave LCR Honda in favor of a factory position at Yamaha – spoke about the possibility of #93 signing with Gresini, in statements to Motosan: ‘If Marc goes to Gresini, there will be many Italians who will listen to him. We all know: Marc is a very talented rider. And he knows the bike very well. So, the experience he has, if he is lucky enough to take his team with him, I think it’s very important’.
Japanese manufacturers, both struggling this year, also deserved a comment from number 42:
– Honda and Yamaha are having a hard time this year. But it’s hard to understand. In this case, I focus a little more on Marc [Márquez] than on Joan [Mir]: until Mugello, Marc wasn’t ready to win, but he wasn’t doing badly. It’s true that he’s coming back from an injury. It’s true that he’s coming back from an injury, but in Le Mans, until the last lap, he was fighting for the podium. In Mugello he wasn’t ready for the podium, but he was there. It’s very difficult to explain.
