Preparations for the MotoGP Spanish Grand Prix program have ended. The warm-up took place this morning in Jerez and Álex Márquez was the fastest in a session that was prematurely interrupted with a red flag. Miguel Oliveira finished tenth.
At the beginning of the ten-minute session, it was Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati) setting the pace, only to be surpassed by Pedro Acosta (Red Bull GasGas Tech3/KTM). In the middle of the warm-up, within less than a minute, there were five changes in the lead.
During that period, Fabio Di Giannantonio (Pertamina Enduro VR46/Ducati), Enea Bastianini (Ducati), Jorge Martín (Prima Pramac/Ducati), and Raúl Fernández (Trackhouse Racing/Aprilia) all took turns in first place.
About a minute later, Álex Márquez (Gresini/Ducati) completed a lap in 1m37.943s and took the lead. Bastianini improved and was 0.176s behind, with Jack Miller (Red Bull KTM) in third, 0.177s off the pace. Fernández and Martín completed the top five.
Shortly after Álex Márquez’s time, Pedro Acosta (Red Bull GasGas Tech3/KTM) suffered a heavy crash at turn 7. Despite the rider being unharmed, a red flag was shown about a minute before the end due to the need to repair the affected barriers.
Therefore, the session ended slightly earlier, so there were no changes in the classification as usual in the final moments. As for Oliveira, the Portuguese from Trackhouse Racing only completed two valid laps and the best of them left him in tenth place, 0.531s behind Álex Márquez.
