Álex Márquez’s progress compared to 2024 is clear, having become a regular podium contender at the start of the MotoGP season. His feeling with the Ducati Desmosedici GP24 is good, helping him extract maximum potential.

After finishing the first three rounds in second place, the BK8 Gresini Spaniard is leading the championship for the first time in his career.

Matteo Ferrari, one of Gresini’s MotoE riders, spoke about Álex Márquez’s situation last year: ‘Álex didn’t like the GP23, more or less like what happened with other riders like [Marco] Bezzecchi. I think it wasn’t easy dealing with Marc [Márquez] and the GP23’.

Quoted on GPOne.com, the Italian then mentioned the significant change for #73 with the GP24: ‘When he tried the GP24 in Barcelona, when he got going he immediately realized he liked it. In fact, he had a nice smile on his face. In the end, it’s a situation that turned around with the planets aligning’.
