Last year, Álex Márquez represented LCR Honda for the second consecutive season in MotoGP. After a challenging 2021, radical changes were made to the bike in search of greater competitiveness, but the initial enthusiasm eventually gave way to many doubts.
The Spaniard told DAZN that there was a halt in the evolution: ‘In 2022, many doubts were created. I have to say it was one of the years I faced with the most enthusiasm, I had made a change, in theory it had to be much better. There were positive and negative things, but the evolution was very stagnant and there were many things that had changed and we were not told about. There was a moment of misunderstanding’.
Márquez explained that the bike did not have the ideal performance, which ended up causing doubts: ‘When we started, we saw that there was something that really didn’t match that bike. You were on top of the bike and you said, “I don’t know how to do it.” And of course, you doubt yourself, you feel bad’.
