Marc Márquez moved to Gresini in the 2024 MotoGP season, aiming to prove that he can still be competitive with the right equipment after facing difficulties in recent years with Honda.
The rider has been modest about his chances while many see him as a strong title contender. His rival Aleix Espargaró (Aprilia) told Motosprint that #93 has everything to succeed:
– He is the most talented rider in the championship, on the best bike in the field. One plus one equals two. We will simply see how long it takes for him to get there, but he will be one of the strongest. I also know the Gresini team well, having competed with Aprilia Gresini, and the team is very familiar and nice. He has everything to show that he can win.
In any case, Espargaró considers Francesco Bagnaia and Jorge Martín to be stronger candidates for the title. And, for him, the Aprilia man is aiming for a ‘top three in the World’ – a goal that he narrowly missed in 2022 and 2023.
