Aleix Espargaró announced this Thursday the end of his career in MotoGP, but it is still unknown what he will do – such as, for example, moving to a test rider position at Aprilia.
In fact, it is a subject that is not yet part of his thoughts, as the Spanish rider stated in a press conference: ‘I will certainly ride more kilometers with the bike, which is something I love. But in terms of my future, we will have time to talk about it. Today, here in this place, I just want to enjoy the moment. I have worked very hard in my career to get here’.
For now, there is the rest of the season, Espargaró emphasized: ‘I still have a long season ahead of me with one of the best bikes in the paddock – a good opportunity to fight for podiums and victories. So we will have plenty of time’.
According to the Aprilia rider, who for now wants to enjoy the moment, there will be opportunities to test in the coming years: ‘I think that now with the changes in the regulations, I will have some opportunities to test. But for now I just want to enjoy and have fun. I have one of the best bikes. I know that many riders in this class today want my bike for the future. So I need to have fun in the rest of the season’.
