The year 2024 can be, guarantees Alberto Puig, the first step for Honda to return to success and to a truly more competitive level in MotoGP. The head of the Japanese team, who is starting a new phase of his career, sees this season as an opportunity for the manufacturer to gradually show signs of competitiveness.
The Team Manager of Repsol Honda Team spoke about how he believes the team will gradually return to its best: ‘We want to get out of the zone we were in last year, the bike was not 100% competitive. We are working towards that, to return to a level where our riders, so to speak, have the possibility to fight again and this will be the first step’.
In a return that is happening solidly and calmly, the real impact will naturally happen with victories: ‘The second step will be when we return to victories and when the bike is fully prepared. In the end, our only goal is to win the championship and races, this is Honda’s philosophy’.
Joan Mir and Luca Marini are the riders of the Japanese team for this year.
