New era, new team: Alberto Arenas will wear the colors of Team Moto2 QJMotor Gresini Racing in 2024, with the official announcement of the agreement being made moments ago. This will be the fourth different team for the Spanish rider in four years in the category.
After it was confirmed earlier this week that the Spanish rider would not continue with Red Bull KTM Ajo – which announced Deniz Öncü and Celestino Vietti – the #75 confirmed his link with the Italian team.
Luca Gresini, team manager, explained why he believes Arenas is the right rider to continue with the project:
– We wanted a top rider also in Moto2 and I think with Albert we will be a reference point in this category as well. The #75 is a veteran in Moto2, capable of winning races and titles. We want the best and, why not, we can dream of a Moto2 title with him.
Note: Arenas was with the Aspar Team for two years (in 2021 and 2022) however, with a different bike and sponsors.
