Davide Tardozzi spoke about the options that Ducati has in choosing Francesco Bagnaia’s next teammate. Tardozzi says that nothing will be revealed in Mugello and that after the Italian GP, he will indeed think about the options together with Ducati’s officials and make a decision.
In statements to MOW Magazine, the Italian talked about the importance of the weeks following the Mugello GP.
– We are taking our time and, fortunately, after Mugello there are several empty weeks in which we have time to think, see, and evaluate. There is no deadline, there is a reasoning in progress. These contracts are very complicated, with anyone… it will be done. So, we will take the time necessary to conclude it in the best way with one, with the other, and among us. At this moment, there is no deadline or a clear vision.
He also added about Francesco Bagnaia and praised his rider for the mentality he has: ‘That’s true. And this is the reasoning of someone who knows he is a champion, knows he is strong, and knows that sometimes he has difficulties, so he also knows that having a fast rider by his side in the box can only help him. It’s the awareness of his status, because he has the humility to say what is wrong, where he feels inferior, and where he feels superior. But he doesn’t say it with arrogance, he says it with awareness.’
