Davide Brivio had a rare opportunity in recent years, joining Alpine in Formula 1 from 2021 to 2023. Now, he is returning to MotoGP with a different experience in his resume that he feels has added something to him.
The new team boss of Trackhouse Racing told the press about his plans after leaving Alpine: ‘I was kind of waiting, trying to take a vacation. But honestly, I didn’t want to have a long vacation, so to speak. I was just waiting to see‘.
Regarding his years in F1, Brivio commented: ‘I had a great experience with Alpine. I am really pleased with the opportunity I had to see the world of Formula 1 and to see how such a large organization works, how thousands of people interact with each other. It was something I was curious about and it was very interesting. I’m glad I did it and I also think that by returning to MotoGP I probably have a different mindset or a different approach to some problems. I don’t know, I still have to figure it out, but I understand that there are always problems everywhere and maybe now I am calmer‘.
The Italian continued: ‘Of course, coming here is a new team, there are still several things to be organized. And there are things that need to be established. But, well, step by step, we will fix them. It’s a tough task, but as I said, I learned a lot, professionally it was great. I am really happy to have had this opportunity, otherwise I would have somehow missed it‘.
Finally, Brivio emphasized that all forms of motorsport have something interesting: ‘If you have a passion for racing and motorsport, all motorsport has something good. If you go for endurance there is something good, if you go for motocross there is something good, if you go for rallies – I am a big fan of WRC – there is something good. So, you can take something from all motorsports, it is interesting to have other experiences‘.
