Augusto Fernández finished the Le Mans GP in 13th position. The Spanish rider managed to score just 3 points for the championship, which leaves the Red Bull GASGAS Tech3 rider in 17th place overall in the MotoGP world championship.
In his debrief Augusto spoke about the feelings he had during Sunday’s race at the Le Mans GP.
– A few points are always good, but the race wasn’t good. I made a bad start at the beginning, because I was hoping to make a better start and be closer to the front group. I wasn’t able to overtake and take advantage of the best the soft tires offer, which is cornering speed. There are some positive points and improvements to the bike that are coming back. Now in Barcelona the idea is to start more calmly and work on not making any big changes because I don’t want to change our base.
Asked if Barcelona could be favorable due to the lack of grip, Augusto replied: ‘I don’t know about the lack of grip, but in the faster corners it could be, in this type of corner last year I was quite fast, so we’ll see how it goes.
